Conservation Tips
5.  Use cold water when you wash clothes.  Hot water should only be
used for heavily soiled laundry.

6.  If you have more than one load of clothes to dry, try to do each
load immediately after the one before to use the heat left over from
the previous cycle and increase the efficiency of the dryer.

7.  Leaky faucets can add to your hot water bill so repair them as
soon as possible.  The constant drip wastes money and energy.

8.  Cook in the microwave; a microwave oven is an energy efficient
alternative to a conventional oven.  It cooks food more quickly and it
uses 70-80% less electricity than a regular oven.

9.  Keep in mind that insulation and sealing air leaks will help your
energy performance in the summertime by keeping it cooler inside.

10. Use fans to help cool instead of cranking the thermostat down on
your air conditioner.
1.  Turn off lights whenever possible.  There is no need
for lights to be on in a room you are not in.

2.  Use lower wattage or higher efficiency bulbs.

3.  Lower your hot water temperature.

4.  Check temperature settings on your refrigerator and
freezer.  Your refrigerator should be 36-38 degrees and
the freezer should have a temperature of 0-5 degrees.
