Paid Holidays:
The city observes 9 1/2 holidays per year.
Vacation:
Employees accrue vacation time on a per month basis beginning with the date of hire. Vacation time cannot be taken during the first six month
probationary period. Maximum accrual time is equal to, but not greater than, two times the annual vacation rate.
Sick Leave:
Accumulation of sick leave credits is unlimited. Sick leave is accrued on a per month basis effective the date of hire. Sick leave cannot be
taken during the first six month probationary period.
Retirement:
The City participates in the Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS). Upon hire, 6% of employee’s gross salary is placed in a
retirement account for that employee. At retirement, the employee’s contribution, plus the City’s match of $2 to $1, is available upon
selection of a monthly payment. After 5 years of employment, the employee becomes vested. If a vested employee resigns, the funds may
remain in TMRS drawing interest until the employee reaches retirement age.
Health Insurance:
The premium is paid in full by the City for all full-time employees with coverage beginning the date of hire. Family coverage is available at
the employee’s cost.
Life Insurance:
The City provides a $10,000 basic life insurance policy to all full-time employees. Optional life insurance is available to the employee at their
cost (they have very reasonable rates).
Dental/Vision Coverage:
Dental and vision coverage is available payable by the employee. Rates are based on the current policy year. You may only enroll in the
vision plan if you enroll in the dental plan. Family coverage is also available.
Longevity Pay:
In December, a check is issued amounting to 1/4 of 1% of the employee’s annual salary, plus $5.00 for each year of consecutive service.

Job Posting No. 105 - Water/Wastewater Operator in Training or Operator I:
OPERATOR IN TRAINING: Demonstrate ability to perform all related manual tasks; high school diploma or
equivalent; valid Texas driver's license; and Water/Wastewater Systems Operator State certification required after hire.
OPERATOR I: One year work experience in public works or related field; demonstrate ability to perform all related
manual tasks; high school diploma or equivalent; valid Texas driver’s license with at least a “B” CDL certification; if not
CDL certified, must obtain within the first 6 months of employment; must have received water distribution or
wastewater collection “D” license/certification.
ALL POSITIONS REQUIRE A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENT AND A VALID TEXAS DRIVERS LICENSE.
