Our solid waste department collects all residential garbage and yard
waste, as well as commercial garbage.  A specific route is followed for
each working day in which all areas are picked up within the week.
95 gallon roll-out carts are provided for all Residential Customers and 65
gallon roll-out carts are provided for all Commercial Customers that pay
utilities through the City of Yoakum.  Garbage must be placed inside
these containers in order to be picked up.  
Yard Waste is picked up the day after your garbage is picked up.  All
yard waste must be in bags or in a separate can from your blue roll-out
cart.  THERE SHALL BE NO GARBAGE INCLUDED IN THE YARD WASTE
CONTAINERS OR BAGS OR IT WILL NOT BE PICKED UP.
ALL CARTS SHOULD BE OUT BY THE CURB NO LATER THAN 8:00 A.M.
THE DAY YOUR PICK-UP IS SCHEDULED.  IF THE CART IS NOT OUT
WHEN OUR TRUCKS COME BY YOUR RESIDENCE, YOUR GARBAGE
WILL NOT BE PICKED UP UNTIL YOUR NEXT PICK UP DATE (the
following week).
