All cases in which defendants request a trial are subject to a Pretrial Hearing. The defendant must be present at a Pretrial proceeding. A Municipal Court Pretrial Hearing may be held on matters regarding any pleadings of the defendant, special pleas, or motions. The State Prosecutor will be present for all Pretrial Hearings. City of Yoakum Municipal Court procedures require that all involved parties be in attendance at the Pretrial Hearing. Local procedures also allow parties to reach a plea bargain agreement. If an agreement is unable to be reached the case will continue to Trial.
